What Purpose Healing Offers in Rehab Alumni Programs
When you graduate from our residential treatment programs, we don’t want to send you out into the world with no place to turn for help. Our alumni program is designed to keep you engaged with your recovery journey and helps facilitate connections between people in recovery.
Here is some of what you can expect from our rehab alumni programs at Purpose Healing Center.
Built-in Community and Support Network
You should never have to face your substance abuse treatment alone. We believe that there is power in working toward sober living within a thriving community of like-minded people. Like many rehab alumni programs, we offer connections to others who are central to the treatment center and who can support you long-term.
When you’re connected to a community, you’ll always have someone to turn to when the temptation to use again surfaces. Even outside of your addiction treatment programs, you get the help you need.

Continuous Support Groups
Where can you connect with other people in our alumni program? Most people find their connections happen when they attend regular support groups. These could be in the style of 12-step programs or other formats that our clients are interested in exploring.
The goal is to keep you engaged with sober living and to offer you new skills and tools to cope. If the support groups at our facility aren’t convenient for you or you need additional resources, we can help locate other groups in the Maricopa area to give you what you need.
In addition to regular support groups, we also offer workshops that give you intensive help for many substance use and mental health concerns. Our treatment center prioritizes all recovery goals and understands that your goals are unique to you. Pick and choose which programs offer the help you need.
Sober Activities and Social Events
Social isolation is one of the biggest hurdles in your recovery journey. The people you used to spend time with may still be using alcohol or drugs, making their company a bad idea for you to partake in. Meanwhile, your healthy relationships have been damaged by a pattern of substance use. All of this makes it hard to socialize with people from your past.
Purpose Healing Center has the solution as part of our rehab alumni program.
We host regular social events that allow you to mingle with others, get out of the house, and enjoy a low-pressure setting where drugs and alcohol are completely off the table, thus discouraging social isolation. You can make new friendships as you mend old ones with consistency.
Research shows that loneliness contributes to poor mood and less engagement in treatment. We can help counteract that at Purpose Healing Center’s alumni program.
Annual Alumni Meetings for Low Commitment
After you’ve completed treatment, we want all of our former patients to know that there is help out there for them if they want it. Our regular events allow you to stay connected with the rehabilitation process with less isolation. You don’t have to commit to weekly meetings.
Instead, you can take the time to look forward to and anticipate the next alumni groups that take place just a few times each year. We want to keep you involved at a level that feels comfortable and helpful for your unique journey.

Recovery Coaching at Our Treatment Facility

In addition to the other alumni events that we host for program graduates, we offer recovery coaching. This type of recovery coaching is proving to be an effective way of maintaining sobriety when engaged in addiction recovery, according to research from a variety of sources compiled by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration.
But how does recovery coaching work and how is it different from therapy?
A recovery coach might offer you the supportive community you’ve been looking for, offering empathy and a safe place for your emotions. They can connect you to a community support system, offer help and resources for long-term sobriety, and connect you to other benefits of the Purpose Healing Center alumni program.
Better yet, you may be able to serve as a peer coach to someone who isn’t as far along as you are. The more sober time you accrue, the more likely you are to find someone who can use your help in the early days of recovery. All of this works to discourage social isolation.
Aftercare Services Available to All
Many former patients are concerned that their access to treatment ends when they graduate from the last day of their intensive outpatient programs. Our alumni team prioritizes providing aftercare services when you most need them. You never have to worry about reaching out for help in the community.
Whether you need more peer support, one-on-one counseling, or group therapy sessions, we provide the resources necessary to help you maintain sobriety. Even if you need to take a step back into a more intensive treatment program for a little while, our team can support you at the first sign of struggle.
The Tangible Benefits of an Alumni Program for Sober Living
Recovering addicts often love the alumni program offered at Purpose Healing Center because it keeps participants engaged in their new lifestyle. It’s a place where you can land without fear of what could happen in the blink of an eye in other social settings. We offer the support necessary to help all of our former patients in sustaining recovery.
As we continue to host events, you get to know new people. Purpose Healing Center makes recovery feel fun and helps you maintain relationships with other people who are in the fight with you. This could be the basis for new, healthier friendships and a source of unconditional support.
Engaging in our sober environment discourages social isolation, provides you with a source of advice and encouragement, and gives you a space to have fun. And to the growing group of our many successful alums: join our private Facebook group for Purpose alumni here.
