What is State-Funded Rehab?

State-funded rehab centers are just like other treatment facilities, but they are supported by government funding. With this financial support, state-funded rehab centers like ours are able to provide quality treatment services for free or at a very low cost.

Sometimes, you might also see someone refer to state-funded rehab as government-funded rehab. States across the country have state-funded rehab programs, which are critical to our communities.

Are there Benefits to Attending State-Funded Rehab Centers in Arizona?

State-funded drug rehab centers bridge gaps in access to care for many individuals and families facing addiction throughout our nation. Here are some of the ways state-funded programs benefit people in Arizona and across the United States.

Help for Low-Income and Uninsured Individuals

Possibly, the biggest benefit of state-funded rehab centers like ours is that we can provide services to people who need them most. Low socioeconomic status is associated with a greater risk of substance abuse, but many people are unable to afford addiction treatment even if they’re full-time workers.

State-funded rehab centers provide affordable care for low-income or uninsured people. Purpose Healing Center also accepts most forms of health insurance. If you have insurance coverage you’d like to use for treatment at Purpose Healing Center, you are encouraged to do so.

Evidence-Based Treatment Services

Evidence-based treatment refers to treatment(s) for conditions like addiction that are backed by research. The therapies and treatments we use for addiction and mental health at Purpose Healing Center are based on the practical applications of extensive research studies.

Trained and Supportive Professionals

You may notice a range of medical and mental health professionals working at state-funded detox and addiction rehab centers. Usually, these will include therapists, counselors, social workers, nurses, and psychiatrists. Sometimes, qualifications for certain positions, like therapists, vary by state. All of our providers are licensed to practice in Arizona.

Requirements for State-Funded Rehab Centers

State-funded rehab centers need to meet certain requirements to receive the funding they do. Specifically, a state-funded drug rehab must be licensed and accredited. Potentially, this is an extra benefit of state-funded rehab centers. After all, it means that we are held to standards that help you get the most optimal care.

Purpose Healing Center is a licensed, Joint Commission-accredited drug and alcohol rehab center. We are committed to providing the most ethical and effective substance abuse treatment.

Choosing Purpose Healing Center for State-Funded Rehab

Even though we’re all held to certain standards, not all state-funded rehab centers are the same. Here are some of the things that set Purpose Healing Center’s rehab facilities apart from other state-funded rehab centers in Arizona.

Dual-Diagnosis Treatment Programs

Purpose Healing Center for State-Funded Rehab

Those with substance use disorders often have at least one other mental health condition. Purpose Healing Center provides dual-diagnosis treatment to ensure that mental health disorders and related concerns are addressed alongside addiction.

Not all rehab centers, state-funded or otherwise, address dual-diagnosis concerns. According to the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration, dual-diagnosis treatment is linked to positive treatment outcomes such as:

  • Increased rates of employment.
  • Improved quality of life and psychiatric functioning
  • Reduced or eliminated use of substances.
  • Increased housing stability.
  • Decreased hospitalization.
  • Fewer arrests.

Our state-funded rehab center treats a variety of co-occurring disorders in Arizona. For example, trauma, depression, anxiety, and other concerns that are often comorbid with drug or alcohol addiction.

Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT)

For the right person, medication-assisted treatment (MAT) can be a vital part of substance use disorder treatment alongside therapy. Some people use MAT in the short term, but it can also be a part of long-term abstinence and addiction recovery.

Not all professionals who are able to prescribe other medications can prescribe MAT. Providers must be trained and approved to administer MAT specifically, so it is not necessarily something you can access at any drug rehab. Both of our Arizona rehab centers have providers qualified to prescribe MAT.

Personalized Treatment Plans

At Purpose Healing Center, we understand the power of individualized care. For example, while a 12-step approach may be incredibly powerful for one person, it might not be the right fit for the next. Similarly, MAT could be right for one person, but it might not be for another.

All clients at our Phoenix and Scottsdale state-funded rehab centers get personalized treatment plans. Your care with us will be individualized regardless of if you’re in an inpatient or outpatient treatment program.

Phoenix and Scottsdale Locations

Medical Detox at Purpose Healing Center

Purpose Healing Center offers two drug and alcohol treatment centers at this time. One is in Phoenix, and the other is in Scottsdale. Having multiple locations allows us to serve more individuals and families living in and outside of the state.

Environment and Amenities

Sometimes, private rehabs have more amenities than state-funded rehab centers. Our treatment centers are amenity-rich, with games, entertainment options, nature access, accommodations for dietary restrictions, communal spaces, and more.

Purpose Healing Center cultivates a welcoming environment. We are here to help you or your loved one in treatment feel at home.

The Purpose Healing Center Team

Our team is highly trained and educated, with various certifications and areas of specialty. The Purpose Healing Center holds our staff members to the highest standards, and extensive pre-employment background checks are conducted during the hiring process.

Help for Pending Legal Cases

If a person’s addiction has caused legal issues (like driving under the influence charge), we can help. We offer case management, job and education planning, court-ordered rehab, and a variety of other services that make us able to help you through legal challenges.

Our Detox and State-Funded Rehab Programs in Arizona

Detox and State-Funded Rehab Programs in Arizona

Our state-funded rehab centers in Arizona provide a full continuum of care. Before you start treatment at one of our rehab centers in Arizona, we’ll help you determine what level of care is the best starting point for you based on your needs, obligations, and current symptoms.

The treatment options at Purpose Healing Center include:

Drug and Alcohol Detox

Many people recovering from addiction will endure withdrawal symptoms when they first stop using substances. Medical detox at Purpose Healing Center helps clients get off of drugs and alcohol safely in an inpatient environment with 24/7 support. Sub-acute detox services are also available for clients with lower-level withdrawal symptoms who don’t require inpatient medical detox.

Inpatient Drug Addiction Treatment in AZ

Typically lasting 30-60 days, our inpatient rehab program in AZ is our most immersive and intensive level of care. On a typical day of inpatient rehab treatment, you can expect to participate in groups and other activities, like family therapy, individual therapy, outings, and recreation. Inpatient rehab is a common starting level of care, as it removes you from everyday triggers during the early stages of recovery.

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)

Clients in Purpose Healing Center’s partial hospitalization program, or PHP, attend therapy daily throughout the week. PHP sessions last for most of the day, and the overall time commitment is similar to a typical work or school schedule.

Unlike inpatient rehab clients, PHP clients can live off-site (at home or in sober living). We can refer you to sober housing near one of our rehab centers if needed.

Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)

Our intensive outpatient program, or IOP, in Arizona, meets for treatment a few days per week. IOP can be ideal for Purpose Healing Center clients who need to balance work or school with therapy and are at a place in their recovery where they’re ready to do so.

The IOP at Purpose Healing Center can be a starting level of care for clients with more manageable symptoms, but it’s also common to attend IOP after a higher level of care (e.g., inpatient treatment or higher-level outpatient services, like PHP). This is called a step-down approach.

Alumni and Aftercare Support

In addition to our inpatient and outpatient rehab programs, Purpose Healing Center offers extensive alumni and aftercare support services. These help us prepare you for success as you get ready to leave treatment and once you’re back at home.

Why State-Funded Rehab Centers Are Essential: Reasons to Seek Treatment

Why State-Funded Rehab Centers Are Essential

We know how hard it can be to make the choice to undergo drug addiction treatment. The truth is that getting help is worth it–the majority of people who consider themselves to have had a substance use disorder at some point now consider themselves to be recovered or in recovery. That’s possible for you or your loved one, too.

Reasons to seek treatment include but aren’t limited to:

  • Better health outcomes. Untreated drug and alcohol addiction can result in lasting body and brain-related health challenges. Getting help for addiction can reduce your risk of various health concerns, and staying sober may reverse some existing health problems resulting from drug and alcohol abuse.
  • Cost-effectiveness. Not only can unaddressed drug and alcohol abuse lead to severe health consequences, but these health consequences can be costly. Addiction treatment may prevent future medical expenses, making it cost-effective in the long term.
  • Employment. Addiction can affect employment, leading to unfavorable outcomes like job loss, workplace injuries, or getting in trouble at work. Our Arizona rehab programs connect clients with job and education resources as needed, helping our community thrive after treatment.
  • Interpersonal relationships. Addiction can interfere with friendships, romantic partnerships, and other types of relationships in your life. Programs like ours are here to help by offering family therapy and psychoeducation for loved ones.
  • Relapse prevention. Our state-funded rehab center teaches relapse prevention strategies and coping skills for addiction and mental health to empower you and promote long-term abstinence.
  • Addressing underlying causes. When applicable, addiction treatment should address underlying causes. At Purpose Healing Center, this is a primary goal.

We’ll help you break through any barriers that affect your ability to get help for substance abuse. Our team can help you with transportation to and from our treatment centers or anything else that’s on your mind as you consider treatment.

The Intake and Admissions Process

Purpose Healing Center strives to make our intake and admissions process as seamless as possible. Usually, the intake process at our state-funded drug rehab center will consist of the following steps.

  1. Initial contact. When you first call our treatment center, we can give you an overview of our programs or answer any questions you have about Purpose Healing Center.
  2. Insurance or payment verification. We’ll confirm that your insurance covers care at our centers or discuss other payment options with you.
  3. Intake assessment. You’ll meet (usually over the phone) with an intake specialist who will ask about your current drug use and mental health symptoms, which will help us get a better idea of your needs.

Once we confirm that you’d like to pursue treatment with us, we’ll help you plan for your admission date. If you’re an inpatient rehab client, we’ll go over everything you need to know, such as what to bring to Purpose Healing Center and what to leave at home.
