Heroin Rehab Arizona

Most heroin addicts become addicted to this morphine-derived drug the first time they use heroin. The intense euphoria experienced during that first-time use is something they desperately try to achieve again and again. However, as tolerance to heroin builds rapidly, users need more heroin each time to even come close to feeling that first incredible high.

The incredibly addictive properties of heroin resulted in over 13,000 people dying from a drug overdose in 2020 involving heroin. More than one million U.S. residents between 12 and 65 years old reported dealing with a heroin use disorder in the past year (2021).

Contributing Risk Factors

According to the CDC, teens, and adults most at risk for developing a heroin addiction are:

  • Already addicted to prescription pain pills
  • Already addicted to cocaine, alcohol, and/or marijuana
  • Young adults between 18 and 25 years old
  • Males
  • People living in large urban areas like New York City or Chicago

Heroin Addiction in Arizona

Like the other 49 states, Arizona is also grappling with an epidemic of heroin abuse and overdoses:

  • Heroin use is involved in nearly 33 percent of opioid overdose deaths in Arizona
  • Almost 16 out of every 100,000 AZ residents will die from a drug overdose involving opioids like heroin (this is 8.9 percent higher than the national overdose death rate)
  • Every year, at least 1000 people are estimated to die from an opioid overdose in Arizona
  • Approximately one out of every 125 Arizona hospital births results in a baby suffering signs of opioid withdrawal

How is Heroin Addiction treated at Purpose Healing Center?

Detoxification

The safest way to manage heroin withdrawal symptoms is with medical detoxification. Supervised by physicians and nurses, medical detox not only eliminates all traces of heroin from your body but also prepares you for entering a personalized treatment program.

Completing detox means you will be in better physical health. In addition, the counseling you receive during detox helps you think more clearly about overcoming a heroin addiction. Purpose Healing Center provides medication support throughout detox to ease withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, joint pain, nausea and cravings.

Treatment

Our inpatient opioid addiction treatment program takes place in a comfortable environment where patients receive 24/7 medical care, therapy, counseling, and support. The length of an inpatient treatment program is typically 30, 60, or 90 days. While participating in the program, patients reside and sleep in the treatment facility. Amenities such as housekeeping services and healthy meals are provided to ensure patients do not have to worry about anything except healing themselves and recovering from heroin addiction.

Intensive outpatient opioid addiction treatment at Purpose Healing Center allows patients to remain in their homes while receiving at least nine hours of therapeutic counseling each week. Patients can choose how they want to divide their hours at the center to accommodate family or work responsibilities. For example, you can visit our center three days a week for three hours of therapy each day. You may also schedule treatment hours on the weekend if preferable.
